A little lightning and thunder on the mountaintop couldn’t put a damper on Demi & Jason’s beautiful wedding day at Wedgewood on Boulder Creek!

In fact, we finished up their first look (a dream!) and wedding party formals (so fun!)  just minutes before the first raindrops began to fall. As soon as the bridal party was safely tucked away in their cars, the skies let loose and there was a torrential downpour!

And — with just enough time for the incredible Wedgewood staff to wipe off the chairs — the rain let up, and Demi & Jason were able to have their ceremony outdoors.

When I asked Demi and Jason what they most want to remember about their wedding, Jason said their first look — “the way that I felt turning around and seeing my bride for the first time.”

And lest anyone think a first look takes away the emotion from the ceremony, Jason said that when Demi was walking down the aisle, he was again overcome with emotion and speechless.

Demi wants to remember everything about the ceremony. It was such a powerful message that they shared — how the marriage of a husband and wife represents the union of Christ with his church. And now they have their unity cross they built during their ceremony in their home to help them remember the sentiments that not only did they share on their wedding day, but that they desire to live out every day.

The week of their wedding marked big life changes all around. They spent seven incredible days on the island of Saint Lucia for their honeymoon. On the spur of the moment, they both decided to get their scuba certifications while they were there! They also finally moved in together — in a completely new city — and Jason began a new job as a medical assistant at a dermatology clinic. (You might remember from their engagement session that Jason hopes to one day use his medical degree for missions work.) These two have such an adventurous spirit — it warms my heart to think about all they will accomplish together.

Demi and Jason both said they loved sharing their wedding day with their family and so many of their closest friends. I think you’ll agree — the first day of Demi and Jason’s marriage could not have been more meaningful — or more beautiful.

Demi and Jason, you two have my heart! I cannot wait to see what God does in your marriage and through you as you serve him together.
