What’s the difference between a branding session and a headshot?
A headshot is a single image, usually head and shoulders only, that shows your face to the world. When I shoot headshots, I take a variety of angles and photos to give you several options to choose from. Then, you’ll get one final high resolution image to use on all of your business correspondence.
Branding sessions are designed to create a folio of images that represent your brand. Branding photos include traditional headshots, as well as candid photos, in-action shots, shots of you interacting with your product or business tools, and detail shots that represent your brand and your business lifestyle. Your final gallery will give you months of content for website, social media, and your other marketing channels.
How often should I update my headshot?
I suggest every one to two years, more often if you’re an influencer, or if you’ve altered your hairstyle or look. The key is to have a photo people recognize — so if they run into you in the elevator or at Starbucks, they’ll know you well enough to say hi!

Where do you shoot?
I’m based in Rapid City, and travel within one hour of Rapid City is included in my normal fee. I also travel throughout South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado for sessions. If you are outside of the Black Hills area and interested in having me come to your location, I’ll set up a custom collection for you that includes travel fees.
