There are almost no words to describe the beauty, faith, and fun of Lindsey and Bob’s wedding ceremony at Our Lady of the Snow in Granby, and their wedding reception that evening at Devil’s Thumb Ranch in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
It was a sunny day right in the middle of two snowstorms, but this adventurous couple is happy to hike fourteeners in the rain, ski together in any conditions, and even risk losing the engagement ring in order to have the perfect proposal on a sailboat at sunset … so I have a feeling they wouldn’t have minded even if it had snowed sideways!
Even with Lindsey’s lifetime of adventures, she told me she was so happy to have that welcomed sense of excitement and nerves — “but the good kind, the can’t-help-but-smile jitters.”
Bob said he was overwhelmed with emotion when he saw the doors to the church open and Lindsey standing there with the sun behind her. It was a stunning image burned into his memory, one he will never forget.
What do Bob and Lindsey both want to remember most when they think back on their wedding day ten years from now?
“The incredible love and support we felt from our family and friends who traveled to celebrate with us. It was completely overwhelming to have all those we love in one place. Taking a time out, just the two of us, after the ceremony and before the reception, allowed us to take a moment to reflect on the beauty that surrounded us that day. And we were so eager to enjoy the reception we had been planning.”
Among so many gorgeous details, one stood out to Lindsey: Her flowers. “My aunt and her friend did all the florals. I was blown away with the beauty, elegance, and sentiment they brought to the day.”
Lindsey and Bob’s flew to St. Lucia, narrowly missing the next snowstorm. And after a long and relaxing honeymoon, they are back to their home in Denver, waking up to each other every day, and having fun navigating their new routines. “Having the support of a husband feels different than a boyfriend,” says Lindsey. “It’s a beautiful comfort and source of strength.”
What’s next for these two? Having new adventures as a couple and creating new family traditions. Starting with their first Christmas together as a couple. Cannot wait to see what else God has in store!
