Refined, elegant and timeless wedding day details

Refined and elegant. Timeless yet modern. Bridesmaids dresses in taupe, and bouquets in shades of latte, cappuccino, and earl grey. If that sounds like your kind of wedding, read on.

Alani and Riley worked with Sarah Johns at Something Styled to curate the classic Colorado outdoor wedding, complete with gorgeous fall weather and aspens at their peak of perfection.

First look and moment alone

When I asked these two what part of their day they wanted to remember ten years from now, they both agreed: It was their first look! “It was so nice to have that moment alone, and see my soon to be husband for the first time.” Cue the tears, too — it was one of the most emotional parts of the day.

Before walking down the aisle, Alani was still a little bit nervous! “I had already cried a few times (hello, first look), and I was trying to keep it together during my walk down the aisle.” Riley was also full of nervous excitement too. And their favorite part of the ceremony was all of the special people who showed up to witness the first day of their marriage: “How magical it was to have all our friends and family there to watch us exchange vows!”

Wedding details for an elegant, fall Colorado wedding

When I asked Alani what her favorite wedding day detail was, she chose … every detail!

“Can I pick everything…? Seriously our wedding team did SO well. Every detail from the color scheme, to the flowers, to the design, to the tasty food. If I had to pick one, I would say the beautiful arbor that Something Styled put together. It made it feel like a fairy tale.”

What is one unexpected thing Alani loves about being married? “Hearing Riley call me his wife always makes me smile!”

And while they had an amazing honeymoon in Maui, being back home actually makes it feel more real to be married, enjoying “little tasks around the house, running errands — it’s about the two of us working together.”

Next up? Getting a dog! After the buying a house, having a wedding, and taking a honeymoon, these two got a pup, Mr. Pickles (Mr. P for short)! I’m obsessed with his charming photos on Insta, and if these two hire me for family photos (hint, hint), I’m sure you’ll meet him too!
